Online and land-based sportsbetting operators in New Jersey reportedly chalked up almost $24 million in earnings last month off of a $184 million in wagers and helped the eastern state’s gaming sector to push its overall September takings up by 19.5% year-on-year to over $281.6 million.
Meadowlands Racetrack comes out on top:
According to a Monday report citing official statistics by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (pdf), Meadowlands Racetrack has been the biggest land-based winner in September as its sportsbook recorded annual gross earnings in excess of $4.3 million. This was followed by Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa as its takings hit almost $2.4 million while Monmouth Park Racetrack managed to post an extremely respectable tally slightly above $2.1 million.
