In an effort to further safeguard the integrity of sportsbetting, American gaming machine and systems innovator, Scientific Games Corporation (SG) has announced that is becoming an associate member of the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS).
Pioneering move:
The Las Vegas-based firm used an official Friday press release (pdf) to detail that the move represents the first time a provider of lottery sportsbetting merchandise has joined the GLMS and signifies that it will currently receive summaries of global alarms as well as educational and analytical instruments and information.
As an associate member, SG said that it is to moreover be given sponsorship and communication opportunities at events hosted and organized by the GLMS.
Lottery business monitoring platform:
Scientific explained the GLMS as an industry-mutualized monitoring system that aims to detect and examine suspicious sportsbetting activities in order to defend the integrity of sporting contests. Launched in 2015 from the World Lottery Association and the European Lotteries Association, the Lausanne-headquartered organization is comprised of 31 lotteries in 29 countries and functions to stamp out corruption in sportsbetting as well as related match-fixing threats.
