After cutting the ribbon on its $300 million expansion in March, what’s currently the biggest resort casino around the West Coast has upped its security game with the addition of 2 new high-tech security robots, based on The Press Enterprise.
Buddy glides round the resort lobby and atrium floor of the southern California resort casino, surveying and shooting live streaming, higher definition 360-degree video of the surroundings with its four cameras, each capable of reading 300 license plates each minute, according to its founder, Knightscope, Inc.
Increase visibility and security:
The Knightscope K1 or “Rudy,” is another ADM on the job in the gigantic 445-acre resort. Contrary to Buddy, Rudy is stationary and stands sentinel beyond the main casino valet entrance.
“I was searching for strategies to increase security and visibility on the property. If we’re not leaders in the market we will fall behind and also the one place to not drop behind in is security.
A brand new outlook :
While most surveillance cameras in Pechanga offer a “summary,” based on Krauss, and a fleet of security employees maintain a watchful eye on all aspects of the property, the security bots make it possible for items to be viewed out of a “distinct standpoint,” said Kraus.
In line with the daily paper, response to the ADM’s from people in Pechanga has been positive, which range from curiosity to an elevated awareness of safety even without knowing exactly what the robot does.
Video, sound and photographs taken by the drifting ADM stream 24 hours per day to Pechanga’s security dispatch center. The device also has license plate recognition and thermal imaging technologies. Similar functions are also features of the stationary robot.
Communicate a danger :
The Press Enterprise reports that in a telephone interview,” Executive Vice President for Knightscope, Stacy Stephens stated …
“As of late men and women are talking about active shooter situations and the best way to attract those scenarios to a form of resolution. Instead of placing someone in harm’therefore, we could possibly send in a robot to communicate with a threat or even help with a benign situation like someone in distress.
Stephens reportedly also said that one of the business ’s robots helped identify a trio of suspects in a smash-and-grab robbery in a shop and others have helped individuals in parking garages that were having trouble finding their vehicles locate them.
Plans to increase inventory:
Pechanga will probably be receiving five stationary robots, with one to be posted at every entrance. A smaller roving robot can replace Buddy and also be delegated to the new parking structure for patrol responsibilities, said Krauss.
“Together with what occurred in the mass shooting in Las Vegas, we have to be on the frontier of safety,” said Krauss. “If individuals feel safe, they will keep coming back.
According to the news service, as of September 3, media time, Twin Arrows Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona, is the only other casino in the U.S. with a Knightscope security robot.
