The largest sports publication in Nevada, William Hill US will allegedly run the sports book at the Ocean Resort Casino slated to start at June’s end this year.
The partnership involving the London-based sports publication along with the resort casino at 500 Boardwalk has been confirmed on Thursday by Jordan Deifik, chief of Ocean Resort Casino, who said pending the necessary approvals the casino would be good to go to the scheduled June 28 opening, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
The prior Revel, also briefly TEN, casino property, which after the second time declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy closed in September 2014, has been acquired by Colorado programmer Bruce Deifik’s AC Ocean Walk LLC for $200 million in early January this year. It is one of 2 Boardwalk properties scheduled to start by June’s end.
The reimagined property can be set to start on June 28 this season after a $500 million makeover.
Ocean Resort Casino will, according to the Press of Atlantic City, include a 7,500 square feet sports publication which is going to be centrally located on the casino floor. Also allegedly confirmed by Jordan Deifik, the brand new wagering performance will comprise private suites to accommodate major-draw sporting events, such as the NCAA men’s basketball championship and the Super Bowl.
The historic racetrack was due to begin taking wagers on sports on Memorial Day, but the launch was delayed after Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester asked that lawmakers be given time to set up regulations to what is anticipated to be a rewarding new venture.
William Hill U.S. currently works its race and sports books at 108 locations in Nevada, according to the bookmaker’s website. Last year at Nevada alone, sports books held nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in wagers, based on gambling revenue figures released in January this year by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
