The Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board has announced it will be holding a public meeting in the community of Morgantown first next month in order to accept inputs from citizens about the plan to bring a miniature casino to southern Berks County.
March meeting:
The southern state’s gaming regulator utilized an official Wednesday press launch to announce that the encounter is scheduled to take place inside the Caernarvon Township Building on March 4 in order to let ‘individuals to voice their opposition or support to the proposed casino and also to allow those individuals having an interest in the applicant’s proposal to find out more about the project.
‘Category Four’ proposal:
According to an October 31 report from local television broadcaster, WFMZ-TV, the pictured ‘Category Four’ miniature casino from the Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association LLC subsidiary of Penn National Gaming Incorporated is due to take a seat on a 36-acre plot of land in central Caernarvon Township and offer patrons a selection of around 750 slots alongside approximately 30 gaming tables.
The broadcaster reported that ‘Category Four’ permits were made as part of expanded gaming laws ratified by Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, in October of 2017. If approved following the public hearing, it detailed the pictured $111 million Hollywood Casino Morgantown out of Wyomissing-based Penn National Gaming would eventually become the state’s fifth such facility and moreover feature a sportsbook, restaurant, entertainments lounge and food court.
