Today at 5pm at Las Vegas, Palms Casino Resort will start to showcase a group of new entertainment venues and restaurants, together with a totally altered casino floor and property-wide contemporary art program. It’s all a part of the $620 million reimagination of the hotel property that has been ongoing since last year.
In celebration of the house’s multi-phased renovation, Palms introduced that the ‘From Dust to Gold’ effort today. The original campaign was conceptualized and made by AKQA Portland and New York and has been developed to ruin the old and make the new.
According to Palms staff, a soft launch starts at 5pm Pacific tonight and includes the introduction of the Center Bar in which a special piece of art will be revealed. In addition, at midnight that the Apex Social Club will open to the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort, and free champagne will flow in the west end of the house near the 120-seat Race & Sportsbook.
Palms General Manager, Jon Gray, said, “Together with the kickoff of our ‘From Dust to Gold’ effort, we’re providing a nod to our legacy, showing off what that’s shiny and new, and supplying you a preview of the numerous amazing things to come in Palms.
“Taking the vision we provided to your house, AKQA Portland and New York, together with Prettybird and Paul Hunter, have generated a visual masterpiece that really captures the evolution of our brand and motivates visitors to come to experience our completely reimagined house,” said Gray, as stated by the news release.
In a press launch from proprietor Station Casinos LLC, traffic to the Palms will look forward to new venue openings today and tomorrow that include:
- Art installments throughout the property from famous artists to include pieces from billionaire brothers and Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, present CEO of Station Casinos and manager of Las Vegas-established Red Rock Resorts Inc. (RRR), parent company of Station Casinos LLC, respectively combined with works with Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and other globally renowned artists and more.
- Casino floor remodel and hotel updates to include casino décor, more than 40 new table matches with charging outlets at many of the seats, upwards of 1,100 of the latest video poker and slot machines that surround a new center bar and a brand new High Limit Gaming Chair. Other hotel updates include new landscaping, a gigantic LED screen marquee and a new VIP check-in lounge complete with leather seating and a group of fine artwork.
- Premier culinary experiences such as new premier steakhouse with a dedicated Whiskey program and world-class art, Scotch 80 prime.
- Two one-of-a-kind nightlife concepts, Apex Social Club and Camden Cocktail Lounge, each of which will open today.
Future renovations include the redesign of the Fantasy Tower suites, rooms and its half-dozen Sky Villas, to be completed this fall. But, certain suites and rooms are already available for booking for summer stays.
In addition, restaurants from star chefs Marc Vetri and Michael Symon will debut this season at the fall, combined with Bobby Flay’s restaurant which will open next year at the spring. Another culinary addition, TAO Group’s Vandal restaurant may also premiere next spring, together with a 29,000 square foot nightclub and exclusive 73,000 square foot pool bar.
