Model and actor Ian Somerhalder is set to come back to the world of witches in a new Netflix first series. The series is called V-Wars, also, ingeniously, is about a war with all vampires. People who gaze upon the bizarrely perfect face of Ian Somerhalder will instantly recall him being in a number of other shows, such as Lost and The Vampire Diaries. V-Wars is based on a publication of the same name. The simple premise of the story is that a mysterious virus is turning individuals to bloodsucking monsters. Not what might be called a first idea, but assumption is that much will be done to keep the concepts fresh.

A summary of the plot entails a warmongering General who is eager to acquire the blood tub started, a reporter who insists that vampires are individuals and can be reasoned with, and also a scientist rushing against the clock to discover a cure.

Ian Somerhalder plays Luther Swann, a doctor. Luther’s best friend Michael Fayne falls victim to the mysterious virus, inducing Luther much disdain and sadness. However, Luther need not worry, because Michael fits in well with all the people, and quickly rises to become their leader.

This sets the stage for a series that will inevitably have the two face off in some sort of ultimate friend versus friend showdown. And even though it hasn’t been given, cash can be placed on the fact that Luther finds the vampires aren’t so different from us.

When Can It Premier?

There is not yet a specific date to the initial episode of V-Wars, but the series is set to get underway this year. Netflix has signed a contract to get a 10 event deal, therefore at least 10 episodes will likely be created, together with the option for much more at a later stage. This is probably based entirely around the prevalence of the first 10 episodes.

Given the prevalence of other Netflix original series, however, for example Stranger Things, there is a strong possibility that the series will see at least a next season. However, this is speculation, and fans will have to wait and see just how the first episodes of V-Wars pan outside.
