GIG Incorporated entering eSports vertical with GLHF.GG deal

Maltese iGaming solutions developer, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) Incorporated, has announced the signing of an agreement that is to see it supply its GiG Core technical platform to the GLHF.GG eSports joint venture of Mr Green and Company AB and Gamingzone Entertainment AB.

First-quarter launch:

Headquartered in the Valetta suburb of St Julian’s, the innovator detailed via an official Wednesday press release that the deal covers sSports and online gaming services and is expected to go live during the first three months of 2019 complete with a revenue sharing provision.

‘Global community’ ambitions:

GiG Incorporated stated that the alliance is to allow GLHF.GG, which was established by the Swedish pair in May, to expand its reach and become a ‘global community for eSports followers’ by focusing on streaming, gamification, entertainment and wagering.

Positive revenue contribution:

Robin Reed, Chief Executive Officer for GIG Incorporated, predicted that the arrangement will lead to a ‘marginal positive contribution’ in terms of revenues next year and subsequently become more lucrative as eSports ‘gains traction in the marketplace.’

Exploiting ‘massive engagement’:

For his part, Per Norman, Chief Executive Officer for Mr Green and Company AB, declared that there is ‘massive engagement around eSports today’ with the sector currently worth about $900 million thanks to its estimated network of some 200 million regular viewers spread around the world.
