After inking a licensing deal with Sony Pictures Television in May, online casino games developer, Gaming Realms, has now announced the signing of a similar arrangement with the SG Digital subsidiary of American lottery and gaming machines innovator, Scientific Games Corporation.
Board game gain:
The London-headquartered firm behind the Slingo portfolio of mobile-friendly online casino games used an official Monday press release to explain that this latest arrangement has given it the rights to develop real-money iGaming titles based around the iconic Monopoly board game from Hasbro Incorporated.
Slingo Monopoly coming:
As a result of agreeing the three-year alliance, Gaming Realms detailed that it now intends to debut a Slingo Monopoly-branded title before the end of the year via its business-to-business and business-to-consumer channels. The British firm stated that SG Digital holds ‘the Monopoly brand rights for the online gaming space’ before declaring that the coming game is to additionally be made available ‘through its distribution channel of operators and third-party sites.’
‘World-renowned’ brand:
Patrick Southon, Chief Executive Officer for Gaming Realms, described the signing of the alliance with SG Digital as ‘a really exciting moment’ while proclaiming that his firm is now looking forward to developing a game utilizing ‘the world-renowned Monopoly brand.’
Southon’s statement read…
“We continuously look to develop new concepts and offer players an expansive and engaging range of games and believe that Slingo Monopoly will offer just that. We are now focused on the development of the game and look forward to announcing the worldwide launch early this year.”
‘New spin’ for a classic:
For his part, Tom Wood, Chief Creative Officer for SG Digital, pronounced that ‘the timeless Monopoly brand has proven immensely successful in the online space’ in advance of stating that he was ‘delighted’ to be able to partner with Gaming Realms in order to release an ‘innovative new spin on the classic board game.’
