At Virginia, town council for the little town of Danville is allegedly set to vote on whether to pass a resolution in support of casino laws currently making its way through the southern state’s General Assembly.
Local referendum requirement:
According to a Friday report from area television broadcaster, WSLS-TV, the measure being considered by legislators in Richmond would allow towns and cities in Virginia to construct and run a commercial casino provided that they’ve gained the support of the local population via a referendum.
Plan in the functions:
Danville, which will be situated along Virginia’s southern boundary with North Carolina, has a population of just over 43,000 and is allegedly one of several area cities that’s eager to host the state’s commercial casino.
