The World Series of Poker has announced the nomination process for the 2018 class of the Poker Hall of Fame is now open. Candidates can be made by the general public online, with each individual nominated needing to meet with a certain set of standards.
Fans and poker players can start nominating those who they feel best represent the sport to be considered for induction into the Poker Hall of Fame for 2018. Candidates must be 40 decades old or older, have collaborated for high stakes in addition to against recognized top contest. The individual should have played consistently well and have lasted in the poker business, considered to have stood the test of time within the sport.
So far as non-players are considered, people that fit into this class will need to have contributed to the achievement of the sport in addition to the overall growth, to be eligible for nomination.
The Poker Hall of Fame was created in 1979 with seven people inducted that year including Johnny Moss and Red Winn. As of 2017, there are 54 total people which have been named as a part of the Poker Hall of Fame.
Nominations are now being shot at the site of the Poker Hall of Fame, together with people encouraged to create their nominations, including a brief description as to why they feel the individual deserves to be inducted. Submissions will be calculated and then the top 10 will be reviewed by the Governing Council of the Poker Hall of Fame.
In the top 10, the existing members of the Poker Hall of Fame and a favorite media panel will vote to ascertain the class of 2018. Usually, one to 2 new members are inducted each year.
When the inductees have been named, a ceremony is going to be hosted in Las Vegas, coinciding with the Main Event of the WSOP.
