Beginning on June 4th, the PA iLottery has now been in operation for just over a full month. The Pennsylvania Lottery launched the online lottery gaming option last month and in a 27-day time frame, the new industry was able to earn $21.6 million in game play. A total of $18.7 million in prizes were awarded with 45,000 unique players signing up to take part.
The online lottery games include such titles as Cash Buster Towers, Monster Wins, Bigfoot, Super Gems, Foxin’s Wins and more. Not included in the mix are draw games, Scratch-Offs and Fast Play games that the Pennsylvania Lottery sells via retailers. Players have the option of visiting the PA iLottery site and trying out demo versions of the games before playing for real money.
New players to the games must sign up for an account and then make a deposit via debit card or bank account. Credit cards are not an accepted form of payment. When a win is earned, the money is automatically placed into the account of the player.
The new online lottery has only been operational for a short time and as part of their offering, have set up options for responsible gaming. According to timesleader.com, the PA iLottery is promoting responsible game play by featuring player-controlled settings, which includes limits on depositing, spending and time spent gambling. Players can use one or all of the limits available to set their playing style and stay within budget.
Players can opt to take a break from gaming, up to 30 days, or choose to self-exclude for one year or five years, if needed. Players must be 18 years of age or older to take part and be physically located in Pennsylvania to create an account and begin real money game play.
With the successful first month behind them, the PA iLottery now has the rest of the year to see just how popular online lottery game play will be. If the first month is any indicator, the new industry should do quite well over the next few months as players continue to enjoy all the gaming options on offer.
