In Nevada, statewide aggregated gross gaming revenues reportedly dropped by 7.7% year-on-year last month to around $912.9 million as combined August visitor numbers for Las Vegas posted a 0.2% decrease to approximately 3.56 million.
Decline follows July disappointment:
According to a Thursday report from the Associated Press news service published by the US News and World Report newspaper, the figures from the Nevada Gaming Control Board represented the second consecutive month that aggregated gross gaming revenues have declined statewide after they fell by 0.16% year-on-year in July to slightly over $996.4 million.
Drop linked to gaming table slow down:
Michael Lawton, Senior Research Analyst for the Nevada Gaming Control Board, reportedly stated that August was the worst month so far this year in terms of the western state’s aggregated gross gaming revenues and attributed this drop to a decrease in gaming table activity.
