MGM Springfield opens for business

After getting its regulatory approvals in the Massachusetts Gaming Commission two weeks before , the $960 million MGM Springfield integrated casino resort allegedly opened its doors to gamers on Friday morning.

Procession through downtown:

This was followed by tens of thousands of people eager to enter the five-story structure so as to delight in its mix of dining, shopping, gaming and entertainment.

Neighborhood advantages:

Although he refused to gauge the exact size of this opening day crowd, Saverio Mancini, a spokesperson for MGM Springfield, allegedly proclaimed that other similarly-sized casinos welcome approximately 15,000 visitors on an average day.

Moving forward and Seth Stratton, Vice-President and General Manager for MGM Springfield, allegedly stated that he is anticipating the opening weekend to feature a quantity of visitors the likes of which have ‘probably never been seen before. ’

Echoing these sentiments, Mancini confirmed that the property was ‘still occupied ’ on Saturday and is very likely to become more popular following its seven-screen Regal Cinema opens next month.
