LeoVegas has announced its intent to pursue a Spanish permit after submitting an application for a new Swedish permit.
LeoVegas intends to obtain a license which covers sports and casino gambling from Sweden which recently began an application procedure ahead of modifications to national gambling legislation.
Swedish regulator Lotteriinspektionen received over 20 applications on the first day of this procedure. The re-regulated marketplace will start on the New Year’s dawn 2019.
Head of corporate finance and investor relations in LeoVegas Philip Doftvik notes that LeoVegas welcomes law in Sweden and that it has been looking forward to applying for a licence in the country.
Philip Doftvik said:
“Sweden is one of our core markets and we are the biggest brand for online and mobile casino at Sweden. ”
“In Q2, Sweden stood for 24 percent of our total net gaming revenue. Sweden is a significant marketplace for LeoVegas and we believe we’ve got opportunities to continue gaining market share from the market.
“LeoVegas is a business which works in several regulated markets and thus has the right tools and knowledge to make sustainable and strong growth. “compiling a program at Sweden is something we all ’ve been looking forward to for quite a long time and welcomes the law together with the attention agility and responsible gambling. ”
Doftvik also disclosed the organization ’s wider plans regarding the organization ’s growth as it might consider applying for a Spanish permit as part of its ongoing growth strategies.
