After launching in December of this past year, the All Japan Poker Championship (AJPC) Asian Salon has witnessed substantial growth. The Chief Executive of AJPC Inc, Yasuhiro Sasaki, said that an increase has been seen in registrations for the AJPC since the Asian Circuit organizes events out of Japan.
According to GGRASIA, since launching the AJPC Asian Circuit, Sasaki said that event registrations have increased over 1.5 times. The circuit has been attended by players in Japan as well as Taiwan, mainland China and other regions of Asia. Sasaki said in a media release that the goal of the circuit is to see the series continue growing in Asia and places are now being scouted for championships to be provided abroad this year and past.
The most recent AJPC poker event was hosted in Incheon in Paradise City a month. Occurring from the 18th of May until the 27th, the event saw 1,149 players competing. The championship was the longest that the AJPC Asian Circuit had hosted, lasting 10 days. This event was announced back in January as part of this AJPC’s goal to expand overseas. The group now has proposed events to take place in Taiwan and Macau together with regions of Southeast Asia.
This is going to be the first event to take place between the recent partnership between the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association of Taiwan and the AJPC.
