Las Vegas-based developer and operator of all high-end resorts and casinos, Wynn Resorts Ltd. (NASDAQ: WYNN), has named Erik Hansen (pictured) its first Chief Sustainability Officer. The newly created position will see Hansen charged with growing the organization ’s energy procurement objectives and global sustainability plan.
Having served as the organization ’s Director of Procurement because 2016, Hansen is in charge of facilitating a number of extensive renewable and renewable energy projects leading to Wynn Resorts becoming a leader in environmental stewardship. Hansen’s notable jobs have been the discussion, building and opening of the Wynn Solar Facility, a standalone solar photovoltaic project located on 160 acres in Fallon, Nevada; management of the business ’s proceed to the open energy market; and the growth of an energy source plan that melds the first micro grid for implementation at one of the hotels located at the Encore Boston Harbor property in Everett, Massachusetts.
Presently a part of the Nevada Governor’s Committee on Energy Choice, Hansen has over a quarter of a century of experience. According to the press launch , his career began in the energy industry, having spent over a decade in various veins including transmission coverage and contracts, power trading, job direction and business growth. Prior to joining Wynn Resorts Ltd., he held the position of Vice President for EnergySource, representing a vast range of Nevada’s largest energy clients spanning the gambling, mining, utilities, information centers and tech industries.
