Danish fantasy sports operator, Swush.com, has announced that interest in last summer’s 2018 FIFA World Cup helped to push local interactions with its soccer-themed Holdet.dk online social game beyond all expectations.

According to an official Tuesday press release published by European Gaming Media and Events, the Copenhagen-headquartered innovator detailed that more than 210,000 soccer aficionados in Denmark had opened a Holdet.dk account online during the course of 2018 in order to create some 515,000 fantasy teams.
Denmark dominance:
Swush is controlled by state-owned lottery provider, Danske Spil AS, and revealed that these impressive figures mean that approximately 3.7% of the entire population of its home nation had enjoyed Holdet.dk last year with around 160,000 of these participating in an online social game themed around the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Mini-league attraction:
Ole Christensen from Swush, stated that the figures additionally equate to a fantasy team being created on Holdet.dk ‘almost every minute of every day for the whole of 2018’ as colleagues, families and friends challenged each other via an assortment of about 4,000 mini-leagues.

Christensen moreover declared that fantasy sports fans in Denmark had spent a combined 250 years on his firm’s Holdet.dk service during 2018 via an average time on site of seven minutes. He also proclaimed that 82% of last year’s competitors had been male while some 70% of users had accessed Swush.com’s innovation via a mobile device.
