The series has been fruitful for a few, while others have had to settle for finishing away from the money bubble. Event #31 was among the most recent poker championships to complete up, with 310 players engaging. In the end, it was Steven Albini who earned the victory, outlasting top pros to assert the first-place win.
The final table of the $1,500 Seven-Card Stud tournament would visit three WSOP winners at the felt, and not just any winners, but gamers who have won multiple gold prizes, such as Chris Ferguson. As stated by the WSOP, during the first stage, Ferguson held the chip lead, but Albini would eventually make a huge cut out of his pile, taking over as the chip leader. With the lead, Albini managed to continue and eventually make it into the final two.
In the end, Albini faced off from Jeff Lisandro in heads-up play. The final round saw the two have fairly even chip stacks. Heads-up lasted for about two hours until Albini took the final lead. Lisandro was all-in with 40,000 and Albini called. Lisandro showes 6-2 of hearts /Q-J-4-10/9 with Albinin holding 10-9 off-suit/ A-4-2-10/J. Albini remained ahead with the Ace-high and earned his first gold bracelet, knocking Lisandro out of the competition in second location.
