A gambling site in Peterborough has been awarded the go-ahead to construct a new hotel across from their casino.
The brand new four-story hotel will include guest room in addition to a meeting room, lounge and lobby, along with an indoor pool and spa area. Eighteen of those 78 guest rooms will be contemplated ‘prolonged stay’ places which will have a living room and kitchenette. These rooms will be utilized by people who need to stay on site for prolonged periods of time.
Members of this council program on ratifying their endorsement officially this week.
In line with this Recorder.ca, the 60,547-square-foot building will be located across County Road 2 from the casino, in a place which was previously home to the MacNeil Park Lane trailer park. The trailer park closed in 2016. The website is presently zoned to home a trailer park, but the council has decided to rezone the land to allow the hotel to be constructed. In reaction to this shift, the developer agreed to improve the space of the construct from the nearest neighbors.
The owners of this hotel were expecting to be able to utilize Gananoque sewer and water services for the home, but the expense to extend the line was too much. The town was unable to utilize the existing lines to supply the hotel with the capacity that it needed and enlarging the lines would have a costly price tag. The developer will be using a private system for septic requirements and well water.
The servicing aims of this hotel have been accepted by experts hired by the township using the programs for further review during the website plan process. The council needed the programs reviewed by an expert after residents of a local subdivision were concerned that the hotel would drain water.
