Scientific Games Corporation has strengthened the senior management team of SG Digital Together with the appointment of Nikos Konstakis as its new VP Sportsbook.
Konstakis will be accountable for overseeing OpenBet’s product development roadmap and delivering and enhancing its own sportsbook proposal for customers after the Supreme Court’s overturning of the Professional and Amateur Sports Betting Act. He has plenty of business experience and has been formerly VP Trading in OpenBet and spent 16 years in Intralot, with his last position being Group Director of Betting.
Keith O’Loughlin, SVP Sportsbook and Platforms in SG Digital, stated: “Appointing Nikos into the role of VP Sportsbook Product is an important step in our approach towards productization and growing the second generation of the OpenBet portfolio.
“His understanding of the sports gambling industry is a valuable asset for all, and he’s currently playing a key role within our preparations for entry into the U.S. regulated marketplace with a significantly enhanced proposal. ”
SG Digital’s trainings for a legalised U.S. sports gambling market are well underway, a statement by the firm Friday advised, showing that sportsbook product review sessions are already taking place with New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
