Starting with 2012, the year where Serbia received associate membership in the European Union, the nation started bringing the gaming industry from the shadow market.
To bring gambling from the shadow economy, Serbia demanded that gambling establishments should obtain permits from the Ministry of finance. At the same time, very positive conditions for running gaming activities are created. All kinds of gaming beginning from land-based casinos, slot machine halls to gaming stores, and online gaming were allowed to operate.
One of the benefits of running a gaming business in Serbia is a very low gaming income taxation that’s only 5%.
