Local specialists
Ahead of the closing of the present licensing window on December 17, attendees of this Gambling in Spain Conference will have one final opportunity to hear from and meet with local authorities.
Juan Espinosa García, Director General de Regulación del Juego, Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública, and Guillermo Olagüe Sánchez, Subdirector General de Regulación del Juego, DGOJ, will both address the expected impact of this third party licensing window on Spain’s online market, as well as the nation ’s present regulatory outlook.
Mikel López de Torre, President of trade association Jdigital, will discuss the business ’s outlook on the latest regulatory and market developments.
International government
Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, the Brussels-based industry body representing the top online gaming and gambling operators licensed in the EU, will provide a powerful counterpoint to the emerging narrative that advertising restrictions will ensure greater levels of player protection.
Instead of the usual lure to vulnerable gamers, advertising is an essential licensing tool that guarantees taxation, player security, and regulatory compliance, Haijer will reveal.
Kim Mouridsen, Associate Professor at Aarhus University, Managing Director Cercare Medical, and creator of Mindway AI, will discuss methods to support operators’ efforts to create long-term customer connections with a focus on responsible gaming.
Mouridsen’s approach, based on a combination of AI and expert tests, has been shown to work in the early detection of problematic gambling behavior and early intervention. His AI-based responsible gaming program has already been successfully employed by Danish operator Danske Spil.
