Finnish state-owned gambling conglomerate Veikkaus has posted its Q1-2018 report demonstrating a marginal 1 percentage decline in sales in Euro 805.6 million but revenue up 2 percent in Euro 256 million.
Drilling down to the numbers reveals that lottery and keno sales rose 4.2 % to Euro 303.5 million; race and sports betting revenue slipped 3.8 percent in Euro 149 million; slots revenue rose 6.7 % to Euro 207 million; online stakes on sports betting climbed marginally, but performed better than the retail betting functionality, which fell 14.6 percent in year-on-year terms.
Overall digital revenue contributed 44 percent of all sales, rising 10 percent, with weekly active online punters increasing almost 11.5 percentage to 626,000.
