Caesars Entertainment appoints new Chief Human Resources Officer

Monica S. Digilio has been appointed by Caesars Entertainment Corporation (NASDAQ :CZR ) as the company’s Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer.

According to the Monday press release from the Las Vegas-based gaming corporation, Digilio comes to the firm from luxury hotel and resort management company, Montage Hotels and Resorts, where since 2012 she has served in the same capacity. The appointment by Caesars is to be effective immediately and will be subject to standard regulatory approvals.

“Monica has outstanding global Human Resources leadership experience in the hospitality industry.

“Caesars is expanding its global footprint to include both gaming and non-gaming hotels and resorts, as well as gaming acquisitions. Monica will help us recruit, engage and develop U.S. and international work forces while ensuring our talent strategies are fully aligned with Caesars overall business objectives.”

Leadership experience:

Digilio has more than two decades of corporate leadership experience, having spent 12 years with Bahamas-based leading developer and operator of destination resorts, ultra-luxury hotels, and residences, Kerzner International, as Executive Vice President for Global Human Resources, prior to her position at the Orange County, California-based Montage.

Prior to her time at Kerzner Int., Digilio held a number of positions spanning 10 years at international hotel chain, ITT Sheraton Corporation. Her roles there included Vice President, Human Resources, North America and Franchise Divisions.

Education and board memberships:

According to the press release, Digilio graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in  Corporate Communications/Organizational Development. She also sits on Ithaca College Park School of Communications’ Professional Advisory Board and serves as an Advisory Board Member for Cornell University’s Leland and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship.

In July this year, the gaming and entertainment company broke ground on their 550,000-square-foot, $375 million, LEED silver-rated Caesars Forum conference center in Sin City. Expected to open in 2020, the building has already reportedly brought in more than $70 million in conference business.

A leader in the industry, Caesars hosted nearly 2 million meeting participants at 17,300 meetings and events last year, according to Frissora, as reported by Fortune.
