The gambling industry is undoubtedly in rude health in 2018 and arguably one of the most remarkable aspects of its continued success is how a pastime which was once firmly an offline pursuit has been completely transformed by the rise of the world wide web.
Online casino sites and iGaming are a fundamental – arguably core – part of the casino world these days. The global iGaming market is in fact expected to be worth more than $59 billion by 2020, according to Statista, thanks to the continued efforts of businesses to offer new ways for people to play their favourite games. While gambling once meant heading to an actual land-based casino, nowadays players have a range of options in terms of the devices they can play games on and also whether they opt for a live version with a real-life dealer or simply a software-based experience.
Achievement and innovation
There has undoubtedly been some phenomenal work in terms of the innovations seen in the online casino world in recent years and it is always important to take time to reflect on that. Fortunately, that is what an event like eGaming Review’s B2B Awards is for.
Held annually by the well-respected industry publication to recognise the achievements and innovations seen across the online gaming industry, the event offers prizes based on a range of disciplines from software and IT matters to infrastructure. When it comes to providing live betting services, however, one business tends to stand apart from the rest.
The Evolution of iGaming
Founded back in 2006, the Latvia-based company Evolution Gaming has become a key name in the iGaming industry and has been responsible for a range of impressive work, with the organisation outlining that its mission statement is simply to help online casino operators provide an excellent user experience for their customers.
The organisation has been behind a host of innovations across the past 12 years, including its game show-style offering Dream Catcher. A colourful and immersive game, it has proven to be such a major hit on online casino sites including Betway that it was named Digital Product of the Year at the 2017 Global Gaming Awards towards the end of last year. Other notable work by the company includes the launch earlier this year of its Live Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker, which is thought to be the first and only game of its kind in the world.
Doing the double
It is thanks to innovations like these that Evolution continues to shine when it comes to the eGaming Review B2B Awards. The business enjoyed a double success at the awards ceremony, which was held at The Hurlingham Club in London at the end of June, after it was named Multi-Channel Supplier of the Year and also went on to secure the Live Casino Supplier of the Year prize.
While it was the first time that the company had taken home the award for its multi-channel offerings, the prize which is sure to offer a huge sense of pride is the latter. Securing the award at this year’s event means that Evolution Gaming has now won the award a remarkable nine times in a row.
Commenting on the success, Evolution Gaming’s CEO Martin Carlesund was quick to highlight the company’s continued efforts to “push boundaries”, as well as work hard to maintain their position as a top supplier in an “increasingly competitive market”.
He also went on to emphasise the range of work undertaken in recent times to launch exciting new gaming offerings, as well as outlining how it has also gone from strength to strength with the launch of its first studio in North America. The opening of the base in Vancouver is a major milestone and comes as the company has also opened its third major European live casino studio, with the facility being based in Georgia.
Carlesund added that the multi-channel success was notable as it was in a “really tough category”, before adding that its Dual Play convergence solution – which gives online players and those in physical casinos a chance to play against each other – was a key part of the submission.
Bright future
It is undoubtedly an exciting time for iGaming with so much growth and continued development being seen in the industry. Among all the excitement it is probably fair to say that Evolution Gaming is one of a handful of companies which have set a high standard and are doing their bit to really push things forward.
iGaming has transformed how so many people interact with the casino world and in the coming years, there will no doubt be many companies looking to follow in Evolution’s footsteps to offer new and immersive experiences to players across the world.
