Following Wednesday’s Tender opening along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony the next day, on Saturday morning the new Tiverton Casino Hotel Started less than a mile out of the Massachusetts border near Fall River.
According to the Providence Journal, hundreds lined the sidewalk at the front part of the facility as they waited to go into the new “ease ” casino, which officially opened to the public at 10am on Saturday.
The property that is located on 21 acres includes an 84-room hotel, food, drink, and entertainment outlets, fitness center, meeting space and a 38,000 square foot casino with 32 gaming tables and a few 1,000 slot machines.
“I loved that moment when we opened the doors, and the staff was all here, from the president of the business on down. There was obviously a particular sense of excitement and anticipation, and it’s nice that the day is finally here. ”
Doyle clarified that the business had no “place expectations or projections ” for launching day. “We only want to ensure that each and every guest who walks through these doors has a favorable encounter. The team , it’s all-hands-on-deck ready to receive guests all day and all night ,” she explained.
Approvals procedure :
Twin River Management had its strategy for the new Tiverton Casino Hotel approved via a statewide referendum in November 2016, and some five weeks after the Tiverton Town Council unanimously approved zoning regulations for its construction.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Twin River Worldwide Holdings, Inc., the business broke ground on the $140 million project a bit over a year ago, having moved the gaming permit from the Newport Grand Casino (pictured left) to the new place in Tiverton.
Twin River Management Group announced it would be closing the slots casino [Newport Grand Casino] on August 7.
While an October 1 goal date for the casino opening was granted before, at the end of May the direction firm ’s chairman, John E. Taylor Jr., allegedly declared that because of unexpected progress produced by construction crews during winter, the Tiverton casino would start sooner than anticipated.
Projected tax earnings :
The Newport County town of Tiverton considers that it will see at a minimum of $3 million collected yearly in gaming revenue and an additional $1 million in earnings.
