Swedish online casino games developer, Quickspin, will be among the first providers to have its award-winning portfolio of games offered by operators on January 1, 2019, when the Scandinavian nation‘s re-regulated gambling market opens.
Gambling Act:
In June this year, the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) approved the government’s proposal to introduce a new licensing system to the Swedish market. The new Gambling Act (SFS 2018:1138) (pdf), means that anyone operating in the Swedish gambling market must have an authorized license. The new law will apply to games in Sweden and games over the internet that target the Swedish market.
According to a press release…
Thirty of the Stockholm-based game studio’s most popular titles will be made available to players by way of its operator partners. Some of the provider‘s successful video slots include Second Strike, Wild Chase, Phoenix Sun, Dragon Shine and Sakura Fortune.
Access to features:
Players and Swedish operators will additionally be able to access Quickspin’s bonus provisioning and features, including Challenges, Tournaments, Achievement Races and Achievements.
Chief Executive Officer for Quickspin, Daniel Lindberg reportedly said that the move was one of the developer’s most significant in recent times.
“first-mover advantage“
Lindberg added, “Being one of the first slots to go live with Swedish players is incredibly exciting for us. As well as being our home market, we have been preparing for this opportunity with our operating partners since August this year – and are delighted to have first-mover advantage.
“We live and breathe slots and are especially proud of our Swedish origins. Our mission is to create games that players love, and we’re looking forward to bringing our games home as soon as the year begins.”
Impressive year:
The supplier looks set to wrap up 2018 with an impressive list of achievements, including the July release Eastern Emeralds being shortlisted for the prestigious award of ‘Game of year 2018’ in the EGR Operator Awards. The game is one of Quickspin’s most successful releases this year and boasts its highest-ever multiplier.
Now live in Italy and Poland:
Slots from the Playtech Group company also went live in Italy’s regulated market with Pokerstars, a leading online brand globally.
For the first time, they are also live in Poland as part of the Playtech Group’s casino tie-up with Totalizator Sportowy. The state-owned company owns the LOTTO brand and is the Central European country’s largest operator.
New releases and multi-jurisdictional:
The Swedish game studio that was founded in 2011 and acquired by Playtech in 2016, has also released a string of video slots this year, including its most recent, Ivan and the Immortal King.
Licensed in the United Kingdom and in Alderney, the firm’s award-winning games content has seen Quickspin ink agreements with several industry-leading operators this year.
