In mid-August, a monsoon storm in Arizona Compelled the Talking Stick Resort and Casino to evacuate and shut down. The property was subject to flooding and a significant power outage through the storm, with the casino still shutdown, almost a month later. The place will remain closed throughout September due to continuing repair needs.
Still Closed:
The storms which took place last month hit the casino hard, damaging the property, for example their backup generators. The resort has been unable to offer services because August 11th and a reopening date has yet to be revealed by the property.

Resort officials said“Ongoing repairs to the electrical power system at Talking Stick Resort will call for additional close of the house throughout the month of September. Employees and external personnel continue work round the close to restore electricity. ”
Power Issues:
The casino has largely been unable to reopen due to power problems. The energy system of this house was heavily damaged on account of the weather and the generators have played a big role in being unable to get their hotel and casino up and running . On top off the energy problems, the café on the lower level in addition to a meeting room and administrative offices were ruined. On the upper levels, the casino and restaurants were unaffected by physical property damage.
Once the casino closed down, it caused several occasions to be postponed. Some events were moved to the sister house of the Talking Stick, the nearby Casino Arizona. Patrons with hotel reservations were contacted about the closure by officials and provided a stay at a nearby hotel or a rescheduled remain at the place.
