Ocean Resort Casino, one of the 2 casinos place to open doorways in Atlantic City on June 28, will feature a sports publication on its casino floor, land principal Jordan Deifik said Thursday. It was also known that the gambling facility will be operated by UK bookmaker William Hill.
Ocean Resort Casino is located at the website of the former Revel casino. The property has been launched in 2012 but shut doors two and a half a year later as it didn’t make a profit. After continuing bickering with New Jersey gaming regulators and Atlantic City officials over whether he should obtain a gaming license so as to relaunch the venue and after lost several self-imposed reopening dates, then Mr. Straub sold the land to Colorado-based programmer Bruce Deifik for $200 million.
The sale was completed early in 2018 and Mr. Deifik said he would invest another $200 million to renovate the former Revel and relaunch it in the summer.
Now, as Ocean Resort Casino is just a month away from shifting its doors open, owners confirmed that they will add betting to the other gambling services to be available in the venue after the US Supreme Court raised last week that the longstanding federal ban on sports betting.
Joining Forces with William Hill
William Hill has already entered the US gaming marketplace and currently manages 115 of Nevada’s 183 usable sports books. Before this past week, Nevada was one of the hardly any states where gambling was legal in the US.
Joining forces with Ocean Resort Casino’s owners, the British bookmaker will run a 7,500-square-foot facility at the heart of the resort’s gambling floor. The sports book will be ready for operation by June 28, when the former Revel will celebrate its grand opening, land officials said.
Ocean Resort Casino’s property principal also revealed Thursday that their sports publication will have private suites for important sports events, including the Super Bowl.
While the New Jersey Legislature is yet to manage the necessary legislation and regulations for the performance of sports gambling services in the nation, it’s believed that lawmakers will complete the job by early June. The country could thus become the primary one to legalize sports gambling after the annulment of this ban.
It is also important to note the Ocean Resort Casino is yet to obtain the necessary permit for the performance of gambling services in the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. However, the resort isn’t expected to face any major hurdles in that connection. A hearing of this commission is slated to be held June 6 and casino owners are more inclined to be granted the necessary permit during this event.
